The life of the young Franco-Serbian violinist Nemanja Radulovic is already a journey in itself. This child prodigy grew up in Serbia, took up the violin at the age of seven and then left the country of his birth when the storm clouds of civil war gathered in the 1990s, in order to compete in competitions all over Europe. His family settled in Paris when he was a teenager so that he could continue his musical education. A fervent admirer of Paganini and Isaac Stern, he is equally at home with classical repertoire and folk tunes, which are a reminder that his heart is still in the Balkans. With his long jet-black hair, and bohemian air, he is not your typical performer on the major international solo concert circuit, yet his playing is characterised first and foremost by a virtuosity which makes him a most appealing performer. This will be showcased once again in this concert with a Slavic flavour featuring the Baïka, a tale or fairy tale in Serbian.
