Schumann Fantasie Op. 17
A soloist but also a committed chamber music performer (she founded the Jerusalem Chamber Music Festival twenty years ago), this Russian pianist inherited her musical talent from her father, the highly respected teacher Dimitri Bashkirov. Although she is devoted to Schubert, she chose Mozart, Dvořák, and Bartók for her Spring 2019 recital, and is championing Beethoven and Schubert for this new season. This indicates the breadth of repertoire of this discreet performer who only has a handful of studio recordings to her credit. An evening of shared music in which classicism and poetry are guaranteed.
